I want to set the record straight. As gracious as the Lord has been equipping each and every World Racer with strength, endurance and perseverance, He’s also blessed each and every January 2014 World Racer with some stellar people to support them, stellar supporters, if you will.
One of these stellar supporters in my book is my Alumni Squad Leader, Michael Leutwyler.
Michael Leutwyler is a man of few words, but a LOT of action, and the action that he takes speaks volumes. An incredibly self- disciplined man, through his own practice of a healthy life style, he brought numerous people (including myself) into new depths of freedom regarding exercising and taking care of our bodies. Our Squad quickly learned how genuinely excited Michael ALWAYS was and is about life, whether we were listening to stories from his Race, or we were just watching him get excited about seeing movies in sweet theaters, or donuts or hamburgers. He’s a man who enjoys the little things, including but not limited to, making an old cloth bag an iPad case.
Michael taught me many things: that choosing joy is vital and completely do – able. He was the first person who said, “God is a God of good gifts.” and I started to believe it. He taught me that choosing my words carefully makes a big impact in the conversations I’m having. He taught me that friendships, if they’re really meant to be, happen naturally, and happen in the best timing. He taught me that practical jokes really are funny (especially when they’re on David! Ha!) He gave me example after example of how to be silly and how to make my Race fun. When he prays, he prays so sincerely that hearts shift, and spirits lift. I appreciate him dearly and love him like crazy.
Michael plans to be a squad leader again this September. He needs to raise support in order to do this.
