It’s obvious, life is full of battles.
It’s a beautiful mixture of challenges, but the best part is, with Jesus fighting for us, we have confidence that we’ll win each battle, because He won the war.
By dying on the cross, Jesus conquered sin and death and went into victory, leading the way for all of His children to follow Him to His Salvation, with a Life full of restoration, redemption, rescue, health, prosperity and long life.
Back in Honduras, my squad mate, Erica, taught me something I’ll never forget:
Jesus fights for His children.
As I’ve been growing in my relationship with Jesus, I’ve been learning over and over and over that He has given me tools to fight “the darkness” a big one being prayer.
Praying to Jesus, simply telling Him what’s on my heart, whether it’s about people, whole countries, or myself, is one of the best ways for Jesus to fight for His children.
When I ask Jesus to protect my friends and family, Jesus becomes my personal Muahmmad Ali, jumps in the ring, and flies like a butterfly, and stings like a bee as He gives demonic activity the one- two punch.
When I tell Jesus that I need help because I’m struggling with something, like worry, grumpiness or tiredness, Jesus wraps His cloth around His waist, His headband on His head, becomes my personal sumo wrestler and stomps across the arena to collide with and conquer these obstacles.
When I ask Jesus to soften and prepare the hearts of the people of Malaysia, the Philippines, South Africa, Swaziland, Jesus becomes my personal Karate Black belt, ties His belt on tight, and kicks wildly at oppression, doubt and any disinterest in the Gospel.
When I ask Jesus to fully fund the entire A Squad, as well as the other January 2014 squads, Jesus gets on a horse, grabs His joust, and knocks any blockage of funds coming in, straight to the ground.
Jesus fights for me hard.
Why?
Because He loves me.
And we fight hard for those we love.
