Ok Everyone, I’m not going to lie. I have been pretty stressed out lately. Now that the holidays are getting closer, work is getting busier and staying busy- I have had some car trouble which cost about 500 dollars to fix, not to mention that my mom had car trouble also and our cars were both in the shop at the same time for a while- AND my mom just had foot surgery meaning she has been off work for 3 weeks and they are still not sure when she can go back.
As the time for me to leave draws nearer and nearer, I’m also getting very sentimental and trying make sure I spend time with all my family and friends- and also trying to make sure that I get everything done in order to leave, and trying to fund-raise as I still have a ways to go.
SO, If you all would, here is a list of some prayer requests that I would really love some prayer for:
-my mom. she is still having some pain and has to leave the cast on for longer than expected rather than just using a walking boot. She works in retail and gets commission, so missing out on some of the holiday business is really taking a hit on her income.
-my car. I was originally planning on giving my car to my younger sister to drive while I was on the race and then just getting it back from her when I return, however, since I just had to put all of my savings into it to get it fixed, now I’m thinking I need to sell it and put the money towards my trip, and just figure out something else when I return.
-work. I was planning on working until after Christmas, but due to the fact that I still have so much to do that I need to focus on, and that I’d like to sell my car- I am thinking about quitting early. The only problem is that without my paycheck- if I’m not able to sell my car or fund raise enough, then I may not have enough to get by until launch.
-my fundraising. I am currently still needing to raise $2,767.00 by December 18th!! If I do not raise this amount, then I will not be able to launch with my team and will have to wait to go on a later race. I have a couple things in the works, but I am really needing to broaden my reach and if any of you know anyone who would be interested in having me talk to a group and your church or bible study- please let me know. Also please say a prayer not only for me, but for my teammates also. One specifically- Whitney Goolsby, you can look at her blog by looking at the ‘meet my team’ section at the left. She is also struggling with fundraising, but I know she has said she does not get much support from her family and friends, as they don’t think she should do the race. Even though I also feel I am struggling at this point- I have some of the most supportive and encouraging friends and family. I can’t imagine what this would be like with out all of you out there!
I know this is getting long, but I do also have some praises:
-I am so thankful for YOU! To all my friends and family members who have supported me and prayed for me and who I know will continue to do so!
-I have finally gotten over the cold/virus that seemed to stick around for weeks on end, and I have gotten all the vaccinations that I need for the world race.
-I found a GREAT deal on a chromebook during a pre-black friday sale, and was able to get one to take on the race with me so I don’t have to carry my old, heavy laptop- but can still update my blog regularly. I only have a couple of things left that I need to get before I leave.
