So month 5 has finished and we have made it to Hong Kong!! I am so excited to be in Asia and I am looking forward to our time here and our upcoming month in the mainland. I know I have not caught you all up yet on how month 5 went, but we have decided as a squad to fast from the internet for month 6. Not just because of the fact that we may not always have good internet, but also because we wanted to take this time to focus on the task at hand and to use eachother as support. Many times on the race this is where it starts to hit people that they have been away from their family and friends for a while and that we are only half-way through. But we wanted to stress that WE are eachother’s family and not only that but we are all brothers and sisters of the same body. Not that it’s bad to miss family back home, because we still will, but that we can comfort and uplift eachother in that instead of running to facebook or skype and getting caught up in the digital world. We want to remain present in the world in front of us. So, if you don’t hear from me or see any posts on facebook in the next month- don’t freak out! I have not gone missing or gotten ill. I am simply focusing my time on the people I’m with and being led by my Father.
Also, as some of you may remember, July 1st is my last financial deadline and currently I only need about 1400 to be fully funded!! I cannot believe that I am so close and that the Father has provided so much thus far. I KNOW that even though I may not be able to communicate with you all this upcoming month that there are bigger hands working and providing for me. I encourage you all to share my need with others and to spread the word that I am almost completely funded. As always people can donate through the website by clicking on the ‘support me’ link at the left of this blog. In addition you may make a check out to me and send it to my family back home who can get it into my account. As well as needing to be fully funded with my organization I will need to purchase a plane ticket home from where ever we land back in the United States when the race is over.
