The cost of my World Race mission trip in monetary terms: $16,254.00
in the next two weeks, by April 1st, I need to raise 3,210.00
by July I’ll need to raise an additional 5,000.00
If I don’t raise the 3,210- I may be sent home from the field. This is NOT something that I am prepared to do.
When I started this race, I had to count the cost- to figure out what I would be asked to give up and leave behind for a while. And I realized it’s worth it.
The cost:
– nearly a year of my life
– my family
– my job
– my friends
– my car
– a bed to sleep in every night
– any assurance of sleeping in something other than a tent
– electricity
– running water
– a toilet
– being clean
– any form of transportation other than my own two legs
– my church and church family
Even though some months I may have some of these comforts, there are times when I will not have any. It was a pretty big cost.
but it’s worth it.
In the last two and a half months I have been blessed with many new friends, with new family, with multiple church families, with opportunities to pray with and for the lost, to share the gospel with people who have only heard the name Jesus, but had no idea who he was or the love that he had for them. I’ve prayed for the sick, I’ve prayed for the broken down, I’ve prayed with new mothers and babies, I’ve experienced God’s love deeper than I have ever imagined. I’ve felt God’s peace and heard God’s voice.
IT’S WORTH IT.
Please believe with me that my work here is worth the cost. Please believe that God will provide the funds for me to stay on this path that He has placed before me. If God is calling you to give something up, if He is calling you to count the cost- listen and heed His voice. The Lord will make it worth it!! The Lord says in Luke 6:38
