As previously posted, Team F.I.E.R.C.E  spent month four in Lithuania doing a ministry known as Unsung Heros. You can go back and read my blog on what that type of ministry involves. This blog is to introduce you to all the amazing heros that we came in contact with while we were there. Some of these people/organizations may be future hosts to world racers, some provided us with a place to stay, and all them inspired and encouraged us along the way.

Kaunas Free Christian Church

The Free Christian Church in Kaunes is where we made our first home for the month. We met lots of dear friends there and they made us feel very welcome. Their church is currently in a transitional period and does not have a full time pastor. Although it is stressful for them at times- it also provided us with the opportunity to encourage the members there and share our lives with them. Cicely also got to share a message while we were there our first Sunday. The leaders and the youth in this church have such a passion for going deeper and sharing their passions with all those around them. It was such a blessing to be a part of this church and see the work that God is doing in all of their lives. If you could please pray for their church to find a full-time pastor to lead and encourage them. And pray also for the leadership that is in place- that they would continue to follow the leading of the Lord and to not grow weary in this time of change for the church. Also ask for encouragement of the youth and for the Lord to place in them and even greater boldness, that their group may continue to grow and flourish.

Unity

http://www.unitytm.lt

Unity is a twice monthly gathering of young people from all different church backgrounds. They meet both in Kaunes and also in Vilnius and hope to continually spread even further around the nation. The goal and passion behind these events is to unify the youth of Lithuania and encourage them to go deeper in their relationships with the Lord. Anyone is invited to attend the events and they range from things like worship nights, testimonies and stories, as well as studies on popular topics. We had such a great time at the event that we went to and everyone we met was so talented and passionate about what they were doing. Everyone involved in organizing these events has such a beautiful heart and desire to see their nation grow closer to God. Please pray that God would continue to show up at these events and that the leaders would know exactly where to take each gathering in order to further the kingdom. Pray for all the leaders, including our new friend and contact in the ministry, Sarunas, that his passion to reach the next generation would be fruitful and that his work would continue to impact the nation.

… there is obviously going to be a part two to this blog. I didn’t want to overwhelm you all with all the people we met and ministries that we got to be a part of. God definitely is working in Lithuania and we were so blessed with how the month turned out. Please take a few moments to send up some prayers for our friends. As always I am so encouraged by all of your prayers and I know that the Lord is faithful to hear them. THANK YOU for all that you do!
