This past weekend I was in Illinois to take part in a craft fair at my old High School, and the booth that we set up had all my information and let people know that all the proceeds would go toward my trip. It was really great being able to share with people how God was working in my life- and even though a snowstorm was coming through and there were not many people there at all- I was still able to raise $386!! I am so grateful to the school for letting us use the space at the craft fair, and for all the support of my family to make it all possible. It just goes to show that God still works even in the storms 🙂
– if you all would continue to keep fundraising for myself and my teammates in your prayers, I would very much appreciate it!! with what I made at the craft fair, and what I know people have committed to giving, it looks like I only need another 240 dollars to meet the latest deadline!
-also, preparing to leave is becoming a stressful time- making sure I have everything I need, making sure that I have all my finances at home in order, and other things that all seem to add up fast when realizing that you only have a few weeks left before you leave 🙂 As well as making time to spend with family and friends.
-and finally if you all would keep some of those family and friends in mind also: My mom just got her cast off today, and even though it’s a relief, it is still very sensitive and swollen. Since she works on her feet in retail (and this is a busy time of year) she could use some prayer for her ankle to heal swiftly and regain strength even more than before. Also, it looks like my pal Silas has been diagnosed with shingles. It’s good that they know what it is and are now treating it accordingly- but it was causing a great discomfort to him especially during his radiation and chemo treatments. Please continue to keep him and his mother Gloria in your prayers. Even though it is a trying time for them, I am so grateful that they are able to stay in our home during his treatments- it will be comforting to know that they have my mom nearby for support, and also likewise to know that my mom is not all alone in the house so often while I am away this coming year.
God bless,
Kim
