Typically fundraising kind of has a negative connotation associated with it. I have decided to delight in it rather than dread it!
Fact: I have 24 days to raise $3200.
That may seem like a insurmountable amount to some, but I am just excited that God has brought me to this point in the journey and already started providing.
Here is what we have going on in this process:
1. Support Letters -I am sending out letters to family and friends explaining my upcoming journey and asking for their partnership in this mission.
2. T Shirts -who doesn’t love to receive something for their donation? I am selling t shirts at $20 a pop. I’m also offering a free shirt to anyone who can sell 10 of my shirts to their family and friends. My goal is 100 shirts!! 3. Raffle dinner -One of my very generous and supportive friends, has organized a taco bar dinner for me on September 27! It costs $5 a person for dinner, and people can purchase raffle tickets for some baskets that some of my friends and family have thrown together! I am so excited to watch God show up in BIG ways -not just financially for this trip, but in all areas of my life. I’m continually praying for the people in my life who are lost, and I’m frequently being kicked in the butt as God teaches and prepares me for His plans for me. Despite all of the aforementioned efforts, I have come to a peace in trusting God and knowing that none of this is really possible without Him. I could plan a fundraiser for everyday of the next 4 months and still not raise the funds. It is only through Him that all of this will be made possible.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” -Proverbs 3:5-6
