I am on such a high from training camp, but before I share all of the joys of TC, I thought it appropriate to update y’all (yes, I become southern from spending a week in Georgia) on fundraising since that was the last anyone heard from me.

I have had this strange sense of peace about fundraising this whole time, and I have truly handed it all over to God and trusted that he’s going to come through. And boy, has he?!

I surpassed my first deadline that I needed in order to go to training camp, and I’d like to share with you just how God provided

A couple of weeks after I was accepted to the WR, I received a message from someone who was launching for the WR in January also.  He told me that he went to church with a childhood friend of mine. The stretch here is that my friend is currently living in Italy with her husband -nowhere close to Indianapolis. He asked where I was at with fundraising because he’d like to help. After blog stalking, I was floored by the fact that this gentleman was already fully funded and was reaching out to help me -a near stranger. A couple of days later, I logged into my account to see that had donated $300!!

2 weeks before my deadline, I decided I needed to be bolder in my prayers and more intentional with my fundraising prayers. God put a specific amount of $1000 on my heart. I prayed that night that I would receive $1000 in support in the next week, expecting the money to come in from support letters I had sent out or a blog post I had written. The next day, I was at sorority sharing my plans for the WR. I had no intention of asking them for support. One lady spoke up eventually saying that she felt very strongly that they needed to support me on this. At the meeting, my sorority sisters pledged to donate $1000 now and $1000 later, doubling my prayer request in less than 24 hours!

On the last day of my deadline, I had about $1400 left to raise. This was the day of my taco dinner and raffle that my friend had planned for me. God used my family and friends to pull together $1800 in ONE NIGHT!

These are just a few of the stories of how God has provided for me through this process. What I love about these 3 particular stories is that God affirmed his plans for me and provided all on his own. He convicted the hearts of the stranger, my sorority sisters, and the friend who planned the fundraiser without me even asking.

Fundraising is usually such a dreaded topic, but for me it truly has been FUN raising. 🙂 So many times we don’t recognize answered prayers because God’s solution didn’t match ours. Fundraising on the other hand is such a measurable goal, that I am continually standing, mouth agape in complete shock of how He shows up BIG time for me over and over again.
