God’s plan is not our plan.
Case and point: Ecuador
Our route changed about a month and a half before we left for this journey. Instead of Chile, we would go to Ecuador and the order of our countries was moved around. None of us planned on going to Ecuador, and some of us were pretty bummed about losing Chile.
What a happy surprise Ecuador was indeed. It was a country of adventure, hospitality, generosity, and joy. I learned so much in this first month of ministry, met so many amazing people, and loved so much about the country of Ecuador.
If I hadn’t gone to Ecuador, I wouldn’t have seen how everyone, including people with disabilities, has a role in furthering the Kingdom. I wouldn’t have learned how to show the love of Jesus despite my weaknesses and own insecurities. I wouldn’t have had God speak “strength” into me through people and His word. I wouldn’t hved stood in both the Southern and Northern hemisphere at the same time. So many other important things that have now become a part of my story and who I am wouldn’t have happened.
How thankful I am that His plans are always so much better than my own. He proves this to me over and over again!
