On October 22, 2011 the course of history
was changed forever.
Yesterday began as any other day but it was
anything but ordinary. After an event we had for high school students, I went
for coffee with some of them. My teammate Angela had become friends with a
15-year-old girl named Soni. She and her cousin Arta came to coffee with
Angela, and Kayla and I tagged along. Another student, Dea, came as well along
with one of the staff named Manjola. The 7 of us chatted over beverages for a
while. Both Soni and Arta come from Muslim backgrounds. Then Dea said that she
would like to share how she came to know Christ. Manjola, a staff member here,
translated for us. After she told her story Manjola discussed the gospel
message more in depth with the two girls. At this point we lost our translator
and began to pray.

As we were praying I felt like these girls
were going to accept Christ even if we had to sit in this cafe all day talking
and praying. I learned after that Angela had the same feeling. As Manjola was
talking I wanted so badly to speak but I knew that that was not my role; my
role was to pray for the Spirit to move and pour His love on those girls.

Then Dea looked up at us. She had a big
smile on her face as she said, “They want to accept Christ!” I was floored! How
amazing that God allowed me to be a part of these 2 girls joining His kingdom!
I looked back at Dea, leaned in and hugged her, and whispered in her ear, “It
is because of your boldness and obedience to God that these 2 girls are going to
be in heaven one day.” Not only that, but the fruit produced by those 2 girls
will bloom and multiply from what happened this day.
Dea inspired me. Her passion for sharing
the gospel unashamed is beautiful. Eternity is riding on our obedience to share
Christ’s love. I have the opportunity to change people’s future, and in turn
history and all of eternity by sharing the love of Christ.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (Jesus) was with God in the beginning.”
John 1:1
“For God so loved the world that he gave
his one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him shall not parish but
have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the
world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not
condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has
not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 2:16-18
“I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
“This righteousness from God comes through
faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his
grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the
Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2

While yesterday was and is a call for
celebration, it was also a day of tragedy at home. I found out that my aunt and
uncle’s house burnt down and they lost everything. Everyone is okay and the
Lord is providing but my family could use your prayers. We know that God is
good and that He works ALL things together for His good. So many times in my
life God has used brokenness and pain to grow me in Him. Beauty is born from
ashes and that is my prayer for my aunt, uncle, and cousin in this time.
Elaine, Marshall, and Jarrod, I love you and am praying for you! Be blessed.
Many Blessings,
Kim
