As
we leave our new home in Conocoto, Ecuador it is hard to say goodbye. We have,
in just 1 month, become like family with our hosts here. This month has been
such a blessing in so many ways I cannot even count! God has given us a heart
for this city and for this nation. We know that He is doing big things and are
excited that we are able to be a part of His great plan for Conocoto!
Here
is a snapshot summary of our month here:
Weather – Perfect! Like a
Georgia fall! Cool nights and mornings and warm, crisp afternoons.
Food
– Guinea Pig (still haven’t had it yet) and soup and rice twice a day
Common
Transportation –
Busses and the backs of pickup trucks
Housing/Bed
–
Hammock inside church building
Ministry – Construction, loving
and praying for the people of the church, and crying out in battle for the
people and the city. I love that we began our ministry this year building just
as Christ did as a carpenter. Now He has been, and is continuing to prepare us
for the front lines by opening our eyes to how He is moving and to what satan
wants destroyed.
stronger but the enemy is trying his hardest to break us apart. We are learning
how to love each other better and God is opening our eyes to see the women He
has created us to be. We are challenging each other to walk into who God has
called us to be.
Spiritual
Growth
– This month I have learned more about perseverance and what it means to truly
fight for myself and for others. God is continuing to teach me patience and to
be content in all circumstances. My prayer is that He would continually reveal
more of Himself to me and that I would be open to Him moving.
Greatest
Challenge –
Persevering through the moments when I don’t ‘feel’ it but continuing to have
faith that He is moving and growing me.
Verse – Jeremiah 33:3
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things
you do not know.”
Ministry Moment
– Praying over and for the new church building.
Favorite
Adventure
– The gondola ride to the top of the volcano was definitely the highlight for
me. (Click here to read more about it.) Words
can’t express the majesty of God that we experienced that day.
Fun
Fact
– If you enter or leave a room at any time, you must greet every other person
in that room with a hug/handshake, kiss on the cheek, and say one or more of
the following phrases: “audios,” “Buenos dias/tardes/noches,” “hasta
luego/manana,” and/or “Dios de bendiega.”
we are preparing to head to Peru. I have no idea what God has in store for us
there but I am excited to continue to grow in Him and look forward to
ministering there, whatever that looks like.
Many
Blessings,
Kim
