After 3 busses and 36 hours, W squad
finally made it to Trujillo, Peru! Praise Jesus I only lost 1 night of sleep
and got to spend some quality time with the rest of the squad. Once we made it
to our destination we parted ways and our contacts picked us up to go to our
homes for the month. This month our team has been blessed yet again! We are
staying with a family that attends the church we are working with. Their
generosity is astounding; they have given up their own beds for us to be
comfortable. Kaitlyn and I are roommates for the month; first things first as
usual, we got organized!

Fun Facts about life in Peru:

       Time and schedules
here are even more relaxed than in Ecuador… you can pretty much expect at least
a 30 min delay

       Home here is more
like a really nice house arrest. We are not allowed to leave the house without
one of the pastors… and to make sure this happens we don’t have a key to get in
or out of the house.

       There is a farm on
the roof of our house complete with Guinea Pigs (a common food here), chickens,
ducks, and a pet dog and cat.

       We are in a desert
next to the ocean… I still haven’t quite wrapped my mind around this one…

       Bathrooms here make
you feel like a giant… look for this moths bathroom blog!

       If you ask what
anything is regarding food on the street you better be prepared to eat it… this
is how I ended up eating a quail egg and sugar cane… neither bad, but neither
of which I would choose to eat again.

       Food portions here
make American portions look tiny!

That’s all for now… more on life here in
Peru to come soon!!!
