I know again I am late on updating this blog BUT this is an important update … along with the two that are following this one ESPECIALLY if you are following me during my trip around the world.

So our last week in Thailand we were blessed with a Thai BBQ, our team leaders, Kelsey and Julie, came in to our ministry site, and we went back to teaching and ministering at schools.

After one of our adventures in the school room, we came home (Ram ((our contact))’s house) to a torn down fence (not the part we built)  torn down and big bulldozers moving dirt that was dumped along the road under Pah and Mae’s (Ram’s parents) house. Too tired to find out what was all going on,  the team and I went into the house and fell asleep. I woke up and felt moody due to my inactivity, and went out side to see what was going on. The machines were still moving dirt and the trucks were still dumping dirt as close to Pah, and Mae’s house as possible. Nun (Ram’s husband) explained to me that they needed to move as much dirt under the house as possible and to level the dirt out when they were done. From the corner of my eye I spotted little sixty-nine year old Pah starting to level dirt out under his porch by himself. I decided to join and spent my third to last evening happily earning callouses on my hand, and sadly ditching my Uno buddies.

The second day of working didn’t start out like that but it ended AMAZINGLY. Again under the house with cobwebs in my hair and my callouses pulsing at me in anger. I begin to wrestle with my tendency to bitterness and resentment as I move a dirt mount alone. Pah was with my team leaders at his son’s house as they, Julie and Kelsey, were headed out to Cambodia, and my team were preparing for the slews of village kids who came in to see us (sadly no they have not returned to the ministry after we have left). Christ showed me that, even in my feelings of loneliness that I was not alone, and that it was by His strength that I even leveled out the first mound that I did that day. After that affirmation of His presence and His conquering my bitterness and resentment and Nun’s help for a little bit, I began to demolish the BIGGEST dirt mound. During my demolishing time my Uno buddies appeared under my house and after about an hour of miscommunication I had come to the understanding that the kids wanted to help me level the mound underneath Mae and Pah’s instead of play the Uno game the team had started back at Ram’s. Ify I agreed that they could help me. We worked together for what seemed like fifteen-twenty minutes (how long it actually  was I don’t know). The sun had started to go down and I had noticed it was getting close to the time the kids told us goodbye but they weren’t stopping yet. I had expected them to stop when they got bored but they moved on and continued to help me. At that time I noticed that thy weren’t going to stop until I did. I got to see a lot of Gods love through those kids act of love for me. I pray that the kids start gong back to Nun and Ram’s so they will learn better English and be influenced towards Jesus.
