Hey All!!!
Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while. Will be better
about it
in the future.
I arrived in Thailand on the 10th in Bangkok and
spent a 12 hour ride to Phucket, a city on the Indian Coast, and arrived at SHE
(Self Help and Empowerment) Ministry some what early the next morning. Phucket
is a major area where human trafficking and the sex trade is flourishing (and I
pray to God that it’s roots rot and die to never ever happen in Thailand
again). SHE ministry provides women who want out of that industry (and any
woman in general) a place to stay, trade education, and Hope (and probably a
lot of other things that I don’t know about because that is not the ministry
that I stayed at …). In Phucket the U-squad gathered, gained its awareness of
the fact the race has OFFICALLY started, and a mind set of the ministries that
we were called out there to do. We also got to reunite our groups again.
I left Phucket on the 13th and arrived in Chaiyaphum
Province on the 14th where we met Nun, Ram, Esther, Mae, Pa, and
Ram’s brother. I am staying with my team in Nong Bua Ban Village, Ram’s
hometown. I have flush-able toilettes, running water (albeit cold),
electricity, floor pads, mosquito nets, and AWESOME food. God is TOTALLY
spoiling me right now.
Ram is part of YWAM ministries and is trying to start a
Disciple Training School outreach in her village, among a lot of other things,
such as: trade education, a cafe of Blessing, an English teaching center, an
orphanage, and a church. Right now she is working as a substitute teacher at
schools in her village and others and Nun teaches “football” (soccer). Normally
she teaches the students English for free on her normal days when she doesn’t
have missionaries to help her. Right now they are praying for a car so they can
pick up missionary teams (and save money then paying for the gas to use others
cars to get the missionaries). They are also praying for missionaries to come
in ever month this year and help with their ministry, and also that the
construction is finished on their ministry building. I pray that not only is
their short term prayer list answered but also their long term prayer list.
That their ministry blooms and it become everything God has planned for it,
reaching out to it’s community and changing the lives of the villagers.
By the way, the province of Chaiyaphum is so in need of a
source of income that the women of Chaiyaphum have said to be in the majority
of women encountered by SHE ministries in Phucket.
