Like I mentioned in my last blog, this month I had a lot of opportunities to share the gospel boldly!
Most of the students I shared with are bhudist. They are normally very receptive and even eager to hear the gospel. Last week I spoke to a kid who had tons of questions. He said he had heard of Jesus before but didn’t believe but after hearing me explain more, he believes that it’s true. He asked if he could come the next day to learn more and ask more questions. And he did! This time he brought a friend who he had told all that I told him and she wanted to learn more too! Right after I said hi and introduced myself to his friend, he dove right in and started asking more questions. We went through the gospel again and he asked questions when he didn’t understand. Then I asked him to explain to me what I had taught him about Jesus. He explained it just as well, if not better than me!
Long story short, he did not accept Christ because his family would basically no longer talk to him if he turned away from bhudism. But he knows he believes in Jesus and he wants to follow Him. How cool?! I asked him if I could get him a bible would he read it, he said yes. So I was able to get a copy for both him and his friend. The only other thing I can do at this point is pray for him and the other students I was able to share with.
Just a month ago I was incredibly nervous to share the gospel. A few years ago I went on a trip with the Bible college I went to that they call OAE – Open Air Evangelism. This is a 3 day trip into NYC where we basically walk the streets of Times Square and different parks around the city trying to share the gospel with random people. This was really difficult for me, I felt inadequate and like I just didn’t have the words to say. I constantly felt turned down and defeated. Being able to share this month was so different! I wasn’t nervous, nor did I feel turned down. I was excited to share, I was on fire and eager! I’m so glad God gave me those opportunities and I cannot wait to continue to dive into them head first!
I want to challenge all of you to SHARE! Sure I’m on this trip specifically to do things like this but why can’t you share Jesus with someone you already know? Your friend, neighbor, co-worker, someone in your family…?
