Can you imagine bringing out the smile of an orphaned child who hadn’t smiled in probably weeks, if not months because of previous neglect from his “family” he had before El Shaddai?  Can you imagine the feeling of how the first time you meet him he is trying to fall asleep on a rock by himself and you ask him if he wants to sit in your lap, and he nods carefully, crawls into your lap, and falls soundly asleep, later to be told he hadn’t been responding to any human touch or comfort yet?

Can you imagine hearing stories of children who had been brutally beaten and abandoned by their father, with El Shaddai being their one hope to find care, love, and healing?

Can you imagine hearing the voice of six angels in orphan bodies singing to the Lord, bringing you to tears? No instruments, no show, just voices.

Can you imagine seeing huddles of orphaned kids joyfully playing with a ball of plastic bags for fun, showing no signs of being left abandoned but finding life, family, and a place to play freely at El Shaddai?

These are just SOME of the stories of the children at the home for orphans called El Shaddai, a refuge on the mountain, delicately nestled on the edge of the mountain, overlooking the valley, and a home for some of God’s most precious creations.

Not to sound like Sarah McLaughlin commercial or anything, but I’m writing this blog because I am going to ask something of you who are reading this.

El Shaddai is a refuge for children who have lost parents, been abused, or simply been neglected. It is hopeful place for the lost, a second chance on life, and a place of safety. The woman who started this place simply felt the Lord calling her to this incredible place, asking that she build a home for orphans all the way at the peak of a mountain top, promising to provide the rest. And providing the rest He has faithfully done. She strongly believes the Lord has promised her that foreigners would build the place of El Shaddai, and He has followed through on that promise thus far. But it still needs help.

I am asking you to help sponsor these kids I have grown to love over the past month. I am asking you to be an answer to a big prayer to have every kid at El Shaddai sponsored and to have someone they see reaching out a helping hand from across the world.

You don’t know their stories, you haven’t seen them, you haven’t held them in your arms, and you haven’t heard their bubbling voices, but I am asking that despite what you don’t know that you give anyway. If you’re a follower of Christ I ask that you would take God’s command to care for the orphaned seriously, and if you’re not a follower of Christ that you would help care for the orphaned anyway.

THIS IS URGENT because some of El Shaddai’s previous sponsors have threatened to pull the plug on their donations, and so if that happens El Shaddai will have nothing. I am asking and begging that you would consider sponsoring a child for $100 a month and IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT to that, commit to something, it doesn’t have to be $100. But these kids need your help. Please, consider helping, doing something so that they can go to school, eat quality food, and keep this home a safe haven.

THANK YOU!!
