High fives, arm wrestling, and smiles are a universal love language. Iwoke up this morning with the Justin Bieber "All around the world" song stuck in my head.
"All around the world people want to be loved. All around the world they're no different then us." Immediately it was followed with some good Kiana sleepy dancing but then after that I listened to what the Biebs was saying and how perfectly it fit with what is going on here in Albania.
The kids here are the cutest things ever. The other night the little boys were crawling out their windows and yelling "pretty girl!" to get our attention. Any of the young ladies are willing to braid my hair. I love Albania. Kids ministry makes me so happy. I feel very lucky to be partnered with World Vision and Light Force this month. I feel in my element.
The kids that come to the camp love to love us and they are eager for us to love them as well. Albanian is a different language obviously but never in my life have I wanted to know something so bad. I fight frustration frequently as I try to communicate. Very quickly though I have been able to turn my frustration into a fuel for me to love through my smile and love through a high five. When I say this is a universal language I am not lying. When you look someone in the eyes and smile people might think you're crazy but they do feel something. It makes them think. People don't just do that very often. Even in the airport and on our 48 hour travel day smiling was a weird thing for people. It makes people do a double take. I love that. I want more of that. As a daughter of the King I want to have my name aligned with his light and that can be done through a simple smile.
