Thursday night I got really sick.

Friday I slept all day and couldn’t get out of bed or really function. My body was aching, I had a headache, my poop was liquid, and I had a sharp pain on the left side of my stomach. I had no appetite because my stomach felt swollen and full. My pee was SO dark. Brownish. I sent a picture to my bestfriend.

I slept all Friday night and then Saturday slept till 2. I got up for a few hours and then felt like I was going to pass out and found out I had a temperature of 100.4 I took some Ibuprofen and ate a cracker. I slept for a few more hours. I had no appetite so it had been since Thurday night that I had eaten anything. The pastor called his friend who runs a clinic in the area and he took me to see him. On the way there he laid his hand on my shoulder and prayed for me. I burst into tears because he sounded so much like my papa when he was praying.

When we got to the clinic the doctor took my blood pressure and temperature. Then told me I was dehydrated and to take ibuprofen and to buy this drink that was a crushed up birds nest.

It was disgusting.

However, I started to feel a lot better and my fever was gone.

Sunday morning I woke up and was in a lot of pain. My stomach hurt and I just wanted to sleep. I felt weak and every time I drank water I wanted to throw up. Pastor called a doctor in the states and I told her all of my issues and what malaria meds I was on and she said she wanted me to get my blood checked.

Off to Phnom Penh.

The lady sitting next to me wore the same scent that my mom used to. Plumeria. The ride was long and I’m pretty sure I got whiplash.

8 hours later we were in a hotel room. This was the first time since Thursday that it was difficult to sleep. My side hurt and I was pretty nervous.

Monday morning we woke up and got to the clinic.

The doctor there did my vitals, tells me I’ve lost 8 pounds in 11 days, pushes on my stomach and asks where it hurts (I hate when they do that), and then says that he is going to do a CBC. He gives me some meds for gastric intestinal issues? And tells me to take them and then wait a half and hour and then try to eat something.

At 3:30 we went back to the clinic

Malaria was negative, my liver is fine, my kidneys are fine, my blood count is good.

My C-reactive protein is extremely high. It’s supposed to be under 6,00 and mine is 37,40. So he told me I have a bacteria in me and my body is trying to fight it off. I am now on antibiotics.

So. $86 later. I have answers.

Now we travel 8 hours back to Poipet and get back to loving on some people.
