By Your Side by Tenth Avenue North has had a special place in my heart ever since I went to India in 2009. My mom likes to say that it is MY song. (Shout out to my mama! Miss you boo thang!) Today I was thinking on that song a little bit more and the Lord revealed some new stuff to me. This is the conclusion I came to…
I am not exactly what you would call a perfect person. I feel pretty screwed up most of the time. When I screw up and I fail and I fall usually the last thing that I think of and do is come to God. I feel like, I can come to God but first I need to get myself better, I need to pray some more, I need to do some good things, I need to let some time pass, I need to fix myself, and then God will accept me again.
God says Why are you striving these days? Why are you trying to earn grace? Why are you crying? Let me lift up your face. Just don't turn away.
He asks us Why are you looking for love? Why are you still searching as if I'm not enough? To where will you go child, Tell me where will you run?
In Romans 5:8 it says, “that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” He proves his love and died for us. So forgiveness is right where I fall. Right where I screw up, I can get back up.
In the dead of night whenever we call.
In the most hopeless situations we can rest in the fact that God still has provided forgiveness for us.
He says, please don't fight these hands that are holding you.
1 Peter 3:18 says, "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."
He swallowed the grave and drank the world’s sin so that he could carry us into heaven and give us life.
No matter how screwed up you feel or how dirty and messy you think you are, because of the blood of Jesus you can get back up and come to him. He loves us and he wants you to know that he is never going to let you go.
