Okay, so I will start this blog by apologizing to y’all. I have been on this amazing journey that has completely changed me. And I have not brought you along for as much as I could have. But, now I can tell you about this next season of my life. As most of you know I was asked to step into a leadership position, which was scary and has definitely challenged me to grow more. And as I am starting the final month of my Race.
Three months ago my fantastic squad mentor, Megan Parham (shout out woohoo!!!), asked me if I would be willing to alumni squad lead. Which would be 5 more months out around the world. With a new group of people. New countries. And drum roll… I am leaving January 10th.
SURPRISE!!!!
Okay, so I will be going to Mozambique, Swaziland, Madagascar, Mongolia, and China.
I had mixed reactions upon being asked. I was excited at the opportunity, terrified about the turn around, a little jealous about the opportunity that I would miss at home. Out of all of that craziness I heard God calling me to go and now that I see my squad it makes sense.
Because there are 12 guys on the squad I am leading. Being a man on the Race is hard. I was one of 6 on E Squad and it is a difficult hard dynamic. I want to impart the wisdom and strength that I gained in my 11 months so that they can have an opportunity to go and grow deeper. Being a man of God requires an honest, loving, and truth – speaking band of brothers who are pursuing the Lord as fervently as you are.
Also I know how amazing and transformative this experience has been for me. I feel honored to have the opportunity to lead another group of people out to the Nation’s to do kingdom work.
For those detailed oriented people, coughDadcough, I need to fundraise $6,500. For the 5 months on the field and the 2 trips for debriefs. Thanks for the read.
