Okay, home community I promised to blog more so here is the first installment of “Squad Leading Adventures”.
So, for those who are just tuning in. I completely my World Race on November 20th (just in time for Thanksgiving) and then I left for training in Gainesville, Georgia (home of Adventures in Missons) on January 2nd.
Over the 10 days since I arrived I have been presented with so much information, leadership tools, self analysis techniques, and practical tips on practicing spiritual disciplines (that I had to write it down so I could read it later or else my retention would be close to 50%).
Oh, and I have left the country and I am currently writing to you from Istanbul, Turkey. At 9:40 pm after a 10 hour flight on which I slept very little. =D
While in Gainesville they asked some really good questions like (but not limited to); what are your 5 core values, what is the Vision you have for your life, how does your personality respond to stress, what are some specific areas you wanna see growth. And I don’t know about you, but my response was, “Uuggggh?”
Because I had never given any of those much of any thought. And all of those are kinda important. But, I did some work and really got to know myself. Because I am going to be trying to lead a squad of people into the freedom that the Lord has created for them to be the Sons and Daughters that they are. So, a good place to start is really knowing myself.
So, I will tell you that I still don’t have all the answers to all those questions. But, Jesus and I are having those conversations now. Cuz I want his vision for my life.
Side note: R squad is amazing and I am so excited to be with them and explore the depths of God together.
Life is Amazing, God is great and give Him some of your time. Ask Him about His dreams for you, where He is leading you. It will change everything, if we choose to listen and obey.
