I LOVE Stories

This simple thought has taken a long time to sink in and I want to start with an apology. I am sorry for being selfish with my stories. Because they aren’t my stories they are God’s stories I just get to be character/or in my mind a player character.

We all love stories that why we watch TV, watch movies, or read books. Media as a whole exists to tell stories. We can’t stop doing it because that is what our Father does and we are made in His image.

For those of you who don’t know. I love and play dungeons and dragons. I still love Jesus more, don’t worry. But, in my life God has used this game to help me realize fully the amazing gift that sonship is.

God is the author and creator of the universe (He is the ultimate Dungeon Master). And God has invited me to be a part of the oldest story of all time: the reconciliation of humanity back to himself. This is such a huge honor that it overwhelms me. It is an invitation, I am not a puppet on a string I am allowed to choose what impact my life will have on God’s story.

So anytime you are making or examining a character you must look at their motivation. So right now, take a minute or 5 and examine your story. (I will wait)

So, what are your motivation? What drives you? What kingdoms do you serve? How do you want your story to end? What impact is your story having on those you love? Are you who you want to be or are you a stranger to yourself?

Good news! If you are reading this your story is not over yet. Each day is a new chapter. Each moment is a new paragraph. Jesus want you to join His work. To partner with him to fight the Adversary and unite His family together again.

Never stop growing and pursuing the things the Lord created you for. He wants to work with and through you today, if you let Him.
