I am going to start off with an apology.

I am sorry that I have been robbing all of you of the opportunity to see what God is doing in the world through you support. I am sorry and I will no longer be stealing glory from God in this way.

Glory and praise have been on my mind a lot recently. God’s glory is recognizing his nature made manifest. We throw glory around as a word but it is the highest good; the ultimate aspiration. His glory is why we praise him; because if he was anything less than the best he would not be worthy of the praise.

Praise is what we were made for. It is in our nature to give praise. It is just to whom or what are we giving our praise too. What we value is where we praise. If you value money and things we will praise money, hardwork, and the objects that money and work can give us. If we value you family or relationship we will praise the people we are with, praise your children, praise your pets.

What is so interesting for me is how easy it is not to praise God first. We can get wrapped up in the things we can physically touch and see. But, most sins in our life can be traced back to us praising something more than God. We praise ourselves and that is pride; we praise money and that is greed; we praise pleasure and that leads to lust.

When our heart is fixed on Jesus and he is our first priority with worship and praise. Then we can allow the other things to fall into their proper place.
