So I just got back yesterday from Creation 2013! (for anyone who does not know what it is, its a giant music festival with over 60 bands and speakers – mix that with camping and constantly being surrounded by fellow Christians everywhere. Its great!). We went with our youth group; which in total was about 40 including leaders and adult staff. I figured it would be great to write about this because I have been reading so much about how amazing it is while on the World Race to be living in community with so many other believers.

To be honest, I have enjoyed spending the week living together with our youth group so much! Every day we wake up and eat together, play games together, pray together, go to all the concerts and speakers together, and at the end of the day we are gathered at our camp together by the fire, then we go to bed (and again most of us are not alone in our tents). It really emphasized how much joy we get from living in community, and really how important it is for us as believers. It is not always perfect together, we often got on each others nerves, and there is just about no time you have to spend alone except when you are asleep (even then really not alone), but still it was so worth it. I am on one hand happy to be home because I am with my family, in our air conditioned house with all the amenities we need, but I am also sad because we are not all together right now.

Having this experience at creation made me think so much about how amazing it will be living together as a Christian community with all my world race squad mates! I can not wait to wake up everyday with my squad and share breakfast together, to share stories from our last day or week doing ministry together, and to always be there to strengthen and encourage each other when times get tough.
