who am I? well – I am first and formost a child of God and Christs for all eternity, but on to the minor details. I grew up in a "Christian home", and I put Quotes here because in reality we had a broken family and broken home. My mom and dad fought all the time and really did not show a good example of what a marriage was supposed to look like and It definitly did not show me how christians are supposed to act. We always went to church because that is just what we were "supposed" to do. I always felt awquard at church because my family never really changed from going, we just "had to go to church". This actually made me resent church and God because I did not have my own faith, I had my parents faith. Fast forward many years later and here I am, about to go on the world race this september and share my faith and live the Christian life.(I guess I will throw my testimony in here) When I went away to college I was dating a girl for about 2 years, her family was Jewish, but only by tradition, they did not actually believe in God, and my family being Christian. I was stuck RIGHT in the middle. I did not really have my own faith, but when I was away on my own I realized that there had to be more to life than what I was living and I went to a Christian group and that night I believe I gave my life to the Lord on my own. I told my girlfriend about it and she broke up with me, she did not like the idea of God and anything assoiated with Christians and church. That broke my heart, I was head over heels in love with her and loved her family, God really broke me down that semester, but after that built me back up over time to get me back on track to where my life is supposed to be. I have grown so much since that fall semester of 2011 and here I am about to go do missions work and I could not be more excited!
More about me
*I am working 3 jobs right now since I am not in school (I am very busy)
*I have played drums for over 10 years, it is one of my biggest passions and I believe a gift God gave me to use for his glory
*I love anything athletic and outdoors. I live for all that (going to be great for adventures on the world race)
*I have a sister who is now 16 years old (who I love dearly and will miss on my trip)
*I went to 3 different colleges and have not finished, I do plan to after this trip.
*I will eat almost anything (almost – key word)
*I love most types of music, except most rap, hip-hop, and country country, like hick country, I don't do that. Mainly hardcore and harder rock music (ABR has to be one of my top favorite bands, I love those guys they are such talanted musicians and great men of God)
*I am a youth leader on tuesday nights for my home church and used to go there when I was younger (I love doing it – I was studying Youth and Bible ministry at one point, that has changed though)
*I want to somehow combine drumming and traveling with a Christian band, and missionary work into one profession / way to serve the Lord (I would call it being a "Musicianary")
