Hello friends and family,
I am writing to you today with a joy-filled heart! I recently checked the online support account that is my fundraising home for the World Race and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that I am FULLY FUNDED!!!!
As most of you know who are reading this, I volunteered my time in New York with Adventures in Missions (AIM) following the crippling Hurricane Sandy in late 2012. Following the stint on the east coast, I wrestled with what I was supposed to do next. World Race is one of several opportunities that AIM offers and one that intrigued me from the first time I saw it.
Seemingly the greatest hurdle to overcome in the beginning, was raising funds to cover the costs that it takes to travel the globe and to various continents and faraway places. I cant remember how many people chuckled when I told them I had to raise $15,500 in order to participate on this 11-month mission. Even I had my consistent doubts as to how or where this money would come from, but from the very beginning felt confident that since I felt called to the race, that God would provide. And He did.
Many of you donated your hard earned money to help support my mission of traveling to 11 countries spanning Europe, India and western Asia, southern Africa and Asia and the Philippines.
I have no words that accurately explain how deeply I want to thank you all for your financial support, as well as your prayers and words of encouragement over the last nine months.
This has been the ride of my life, and much more importantly through your giving I have been blessed to touch and change lives in every place we’ve been. I might be the hands and feet on the ground in all these places, but without your support, none of this would have been possible.
I have two more months remaining on my journey – Swaziland and South Africa. I cannot wait to see what the Lord has for me and my team in the stunning land of Africa, before I return to the United States and the next chapter of my life… whatever that may be.
Thank you all again so much for your support, and I sincerely look forward to the chance to share many of my experiences and stories in person with you, when I return in June.
From a very blessed young man,
Kevin Striegle
