Hey there –
My name is Kevin Smith and I am from Nashville, Tennessee. I moved here about 2 years ago and it’s been a rocky road of transition, but it has also been a road of so much joy and growth. I’m glad you’re taking some time to see my World Race blog.
I am 24 years old. I was born and raised in Virginia. I am half Asian (Filipino) and half American (German-Irish). I grew up in an area called Virginia Beach. I went to a Christian school from when I was 9 until I was a senior in high school. On my own I began to pursue God in college through christian organizations like Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Young Life. My life was changed furthermore when I spent 2 summers during college in a discipleship program in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee. God opened my eyes to who He is more than I could fathom and I got a taste of God’s love for me as His child. My time in Tennessee changed my heart so much that it lead me to move there in the Summer of 2013, and that’s how I got to Nashville. And even though I love music, I am not pursuing a music career 🙂
“The one thing I ask of the Lord, the thing I seek most, is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.” Psalm 27:4 NLT
“Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7
