So I have to raise $16,250 dollars to go on the World Race and I leave in January. I’m headed to 11 countries in 11 months, but where does that money go? What is it used for? Do I need to raise all of that money before I leave?
This isn’t the most exciting blog post but it is necessary! I have had so many people donate to me and it makes me so thankful. At times my heart is overwhelmed in the best kind of ways. Let’s get down to the details.
(the following charts and information are borrowed from another racer‘s blog that I came across)

Training Camp–$320 – (Covers my training before departure. This was a week long session in October)
Field Support–$620 – (Assisting to get us supplies, local contacts, etc.)
WR Development Program–$1,860 (Improvements & Developments)
Administration Fees–$2,635 – (Processing fees and paying the staff who organizes travel, meals, missions, etc.)
World Racer–$10,075 (this is used for me!)
So 65% of what I raise is used for me! To be clear, though, it does not go to Kevin’s pocket, but it is used by Adventures in Missions for me. Let’s break down where that World Racer money goes.

Travel between continents – $4,235.00
Food – $1,256.25
Lodging – $1,758.75
Transportation – $1,005.00
Long Distance Travel/Misc. Supplies – $1,115.55
All of this money does not include daily expenses I will have on the race or the remaining gear and equipment I will have to get!
Again here are the countries I will be going to: Dominican Republic, Haiti, Guatemala, Nicarauga, Costa Rica, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Swaziland, Botswana, South Africa. (they are subject to change)
Deadlines (some of them are already passed and have been met thanks to you all!):
8/15/2014 – $150 Deposit (2 weeks after your acceptance date.)
9/27/2014 – $3,500 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
12/18/2014 – $7,500 (2 weeks prior to your trip)
4/1/2015 – $11,000 (End of 3 months on the field)
7/1/2015 – $15,500.00 + $750.00 (*Insurance) = $16,250.00 TOTAL DUE (End of 6 months on the field)

You know, it gives me chills thinking about going on this adventure. God is changing things around the world and I simply asked to be a part of what He is doing. It may sound silly but when I first applied to the World Race this past Summer I distinctly remember sitting in my car and echoing Isaiah 6:8 “Here I am, send me” out loud and God is bringing that statement to fruition in my life. It’s cool to see. If you made it this far in reading all these details – leave a comment below saying “Isaiah 6:8” and I will send you a postcard saying thanks! Thank you for being invested in me and having a desire to be interested in what i’ll be doing.
