“I’m heading out of the country for the next 11 months.”
It still feels weird to say that because it hasn’t hit me yet that I’m going to be gone for that amount of time.

It’s 3am and I’m sitting in a hotel room in Chicago. My backpack is all packed and ready to go and I’m just waiting to leave for my 5am flight. Looks like I won’t be getting much sleep.

The good news is that I’m finally heading off. All these months of preparation and waiting has finally cumulated in this. The weird thing is, I don’t feel nervous. In fact, I feel more at peace than almost any time in my life. I know this is where God has called me. I am surrounded by a group of people who are passionately in love with God and want to serve Him wherever that may be.

As I write this, I’m sitting and listening to my two awesome squadmates sing worship songs to God and I truly feel at peace. I know that there are great things awaiting my team down in the Dominican Republic and I can’t wait to be a part of it. I’m leaving my life as I know it behind me but I’m perfectly fine with that. There’s a new chapter ahead and I’ve got to learn to let go and press forward.

We land tomorrow and start our ministry on Sunday, so keep checking in and I’ll be posting more stuff! This is just a short blog to keep you updated on what’s going on and feel free to email me if you have any questions. I no longer have a phone but I will probably have access to internet on and off during my time there.

God Bless
