Who am I? Well that's a pretty loaded question, but I'll try to give you a quick synopsis.
Many of you already know me and many don't.
My name is Kevin Gottlieb and I was born and raised in Virginia. Been here my whole life, though I have travelled a bit.
I was raised in an evangelical household, but my dad is a Jewish believer in Jesus so I grew up with a lot of Jewish influences in my life and now I currently attend an Anglican church, so, as you can see, I've got quite a mix of influences.
I have spent most of my life living for myself and my own selfish desires. After running away from God for a period of time, God broke me down and, like the Prodigal Son, showed me that the life I was living was little better than eating from the pig trough. He began drawing me back, bit by bit, and showing me how much better it is to live in submission to Him.
As I grew in my relationship with Christ, I recognized a frustrating truth: God wants all of my life, not just the little bits I try to give to him. Over the past two years, he has been working through my life and stripping away a lot of the junk that I had been holding onto for all those years.
I'm graduating from George Mason University in August of this year and over the past 9 months, I've been trying to figure what his will is for my life. For a while, God was silent and this was a frustrating time of God teaching me patience as I waited for him to open doors.
By the end of March, after a lot of other doors closed, I finally found out that God was calling me to go on the World Race. He is slowly cutting off many of the ties that bind me to this area.
I know this is where God is calling me.
A few fun facts about where I am presently:
I live in a house with 6 awesome guys and a wolf/husky hybrid
I am a History Major at George Mason University
I work at my college as a technician – I fix equipment in classrooms and computer labs
I love reading but never seem to have enough time for it
I listen to a large variety of music but my favorite genre would have to be metal
I love videogames – current favorite game: League of Legends
I play bass guitar – currently teaching myself acoustic guitar
I hate buying clothes – so I wear my clothes until they wear out
