If there is one thing that I have learned from past missions trips it’s that nothing planned is certain. God works in ways that are incomprehensible to us to ensure that his will is accomplished in our lives. That being said, it is with joy and sadness that mere weeks before departure I make the transition to a different route.

What does this mean? A Lot!

It means going to different countries I had not originally planned on. (Check out the new route here —> July Route 4 – G Squad) It means I will be traveling with all new people. Conversely, it means that those I have been getting to know over the past months, whom I love and have been looking forward to traveling and serving with, will no longer be my direct team mates.

Shout out to E Squad! I’ll miss you guys!

But I know that this is the will of the Lord, and to explain I must start from…well the start.

When I first signed up for this adventure, I selected the route I because of one country: Nepal. As I prayed about which route to take, Nepal came to mind. And the next time I prayed over it, Nepal came to mind again. So I had a look at the countries listed on each route and (at the time) only one included Nepal on the itinerary: Route 2. Done deal, that’s the route I’m to be on. So when I was asked to switch to route 4 my initial thought was “No, not possible!” But I had a look at the route anyways. To my surprise Nepal had been added to Route 4!

But I wanted to stay on Route 2. I did not want to leave the relationships that I begun to build with my team. I did not want to go to other countries. But for some reason I just did not feel comfortable with staying. After praying over the possible switch for some time God removed me from the picture. He reminded me that this is not about me and never was. My purpose is do what is needed and go where that need is. This starts now, not after I leave in July. And there was a need for me on Route 4, a need he wanted me to fill. After this realization and committing in my heart to making the switch, the peace of God came over me and further confirmed the decision.

I am excited for my new team and the new countries on my itinerary.  An epic journey awaits with the amazing people God has always intended for me to serve alongside and in the places/times where he wants me. G Squad, I am stoked to be with y’all!
