Nairobi traffic may be the worst I have ever encountered. Actually, take away that “may be” and replace it with “is”. Between the matatu drivers lack of following the traffic laws and the lack of traffic laws all together, it gets crazy up in here! The other day while frantically crossing the road (ps when I say frantically I mean “it gets crazy up in here”), I felt that there happens to be a strange relationship between dodging traffic like a solid game of Frogger and the church.

It just so happens that there is no traffic lights in life that tell others when to stop and go. We are blessed with the gift of free will. So often, it seems easier to abandon everyone else and just try to make it on your own. That may work… BUT it may not. What if your step causes someone else to stumble after you and they don’t make it? It is no secret that there is disunity in the Christian church. I think a lot of that is due to instantly assuming that we can do things better than others and we end up leaving God out of our precious process of reasoning.

What IF…

What if we really listened to others?

What if we actually heard their heart?

What if we chose to see where people are right on point?

What if we chose to pray for people we disagree with?

What if we spoke life over the people we don’t necessarily like?

TIP: Patiently waiting for others to join you where you are and walking in one unified body. That is the best way to get traffic to stop and allow you to get where you need to go.
