Hello all! I just wanted to throw up on here about some of the things going on recently in my life. The most pressing news that is now making it's way to the front page is that we have been invited to go to Kenya for a Parent Vision Trip and K and L squads' 8 month debrief. "We" meaning me, Sheila Yoder, and Brittany Baker. We have all felt this call to advocating for the ideal of family amongst the World Race community. The goal is to bridge the gap between alumni racers, current racers, and even future racers. The best way we see to do this is to stop seeing each other as ministry opportunities or even fellow racers and just start looking at each other as individuals. Individuals with hearts that need protecting and someone to fight for them. And yes, the basis for us being connected is still the World Race but that is not the principle foundation of what this family is built on. By going on this vision trip and spending time at this debrief with K and L squads, we are are hoping to not only just love every single person we encounter to the fullest, but also gather a bigger picture vision on how to help other alumni pour back into individuals who are traveling the same path of growth and change we once did.
In order to get to Kenya, we need help. We need a total of $4800 by Monday to purchase the plane tickets before the prices spike up.
I you felt led to donate to this movement of family that we believe is about to sweep through this community, you can go here:
http://www.adventures.org/give/donate.asp?giveto=partFund
The program you would donate to is Vision Trip and the participants names would be me, Kevin Buzzie, and Sheila Yoder. Either name would place your support into a joint fund for the three of us.
Thank you! We hope to see you on the other side of this concept and make it to the family table together!
