Here it is the simple truth, the World Race is probably the most difficult task that God has ever brought into my life. It has its joys, worth whiles, and beautiful moments but it also has it challenges, trials, and brokenness.
I cannot put into words the change that has occurred in my heart but also the change that will come in time. I know I am not the same person and nor will I ever be the same again. God has exposed the lies and weakness and proclaimed jubilee over my soul.
The task that is still before me is still laborious, backbreaking and even painstaking. This is no easy assignment. You cannot cheat your way through the race. As it says in Philippians 3: 12-14, “I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward- to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. (Message)
I’m not turning back. I am running onward. I don’t want to be what I used to be. Here I am. I am not perfect, in fact I am a sinner saved by grace and I am worthless on my own but through Christ I am more than a conquer, through Christ I am more than what is seen in the mirror, I am more than what is written about me on paper. I am more.
I am fighting for truth; I am swimming through the seas of the unknown and waiting for the impossible. This is not a normal life, this is a life willing to take the risk because I don’t want normal. I want the extraordinary. There is something stirring me on to greatness, something is stirring in me to awaken a generation who has been sleeping, to pursue the righteousness of the Lord and to reveal His heart for this generation.
This will be generation of change. This will be a generation that will chase after the unfathomable things of God’s kingdom, this will be a generation that will ask and will receive. This will be a generation that will fight for what is right and stand for the orphan and the widow.
A message from the Lord;
Run without looking back. Run forward with purpose. There is beauty within the pain. There is grace within the race. I am asking for those who will risk everything for me. Is my cross enough for you? Is my blood enough for you? I spilt everything for you. I gave everything I had for you. And all I am asking is that you would run without looking back. To keep your eyes focus on me; to take the chance on me. Don’t you think I am enough for you? I am the one who has been sending those love notes, who has been whispering truth to you in the dark, when you have been afraid. I am crying out for you. Will you be the one who will go against the crowd and bleed against the current? Will you be the one who will be labeled for the rest of his/her life because you are radical? Will dare to be a Daniel who prayed three times a day and stood for what is right, dare to be Esther who would not let her people die and risked her life to save them, dare to be a Moses who never strayed from my words when a generation forgot who I was, dare to be a Deborah who fought for justice and won the battle when everyone else gave up, dare to be a Peter who walked on water because he knew with me everything is possible. I dare you to dream what I can do through you.
The World Race is a race that is daring to make a difference, daring to see things in a brand new light. It’s not just a physical adventure. It’s an adventure for your heart, to not relent until you see His kingdom come. Will you run? Will you take the risk? Have you been asking what is my purpose in life? Do you know that you were born to praise the Lord? Do you know that you were born for such a moment as this? My prayer for you is that the Lord will put fire within your belly, to not be content with the things of this world. Nothing will ever satisfy you until you press into the riches of Christ Jesus.
Prayer for the risk-taker
I am ready Lord. I ready to take the risk. I am ready to step off the ledge. Father I can’t watch from a distance and see others taking the risk and still sit and pine and wish that was me. I will dare to be different. I will dare to make a difference. I know you have called me and I know that I have a purpose within your kingdom. So I will press on and run towards the prize. I will go to the ends of the earth for you. I will not be silent. I will breathe in your words and speak them to the nations. Jesus I will be your hands and feet. Set me on fire today for you. In Jesus name amen.
