Christ. You dress like I do, talk like I do, watch the same movies, listen to
the same music, go to the bars and have fun the same way that I do.
So what makes you different? How are you different from me?
I walked into your church today. I never felt so ashamed and alone. Although you were right
beside me comforting me, it never took the uncomfortable air from my
throat. So this is what is like to
be in church. Singing songs I do not understand, “How great is our God.” Who is
this God and why is He so great?
Three songs in the beginning, announcements, turn around shake someone’s hand,
offering, four more songs, then 1/2hr sermon, then it all wraps up and we go
home like nothing has changed.
Why do you suffer through this every Sunday? It is so religious!
In my personal opinion, it is just a day for you to feel good about your life.
You went to church to “wash away your guilt.” Then you go back home and do it
all over again.

your church knowing I was an outsider looking in. I do not understand you and
why you do what you do. However, do you understand me? Have you tried to take
down your walls and step into my court? I think we are all searching for the
same thing: love and acceptance. I may find it in the bar and my circle of friends.
And you may find it in Jesus. So
come into my world, don’t be shy and tell me what is so special about your God.
What makes Him different then all the other gods of this world?
like a man in rags for that was the looks I received. Is that what church is all about? I would think it should be
a haven for the poor, the unwanted and abused. All I saw was rich people
warming their pews.
here right now, whom would He choose to sit with? Those who say they are
“righteous” or me who is just looking for answers?
