I cannot explain the goodness of God and how He protected us and although what happened could have had a negative outcome, instead there was joy. I guess I should tell the story from the beginning.

We are blessed this month in Tanzania to stay in such a beautiful house. Our contact Pastor Paul was generous to find such a great place to stay. We are taken care of so wonderfully. We have people who cook, clean and do our laundry for us. It’s such a blessing for us to rest in such a place.

There are three teams staying in this house.  Altogether there are 24 people and five rooms to share. Glenayln, Leyna, Courtney and I were staying in the living room area, which is our common room and eating room. There was a thin lace curtain up to protect us ladies. For five days we stayed in the living room, but there was a problem with us girls feeling exposed and indecent, especially in the mornings.

On the 4th of July we changed rooms and the guys took the living room. We were grateful for the men to change rooms and soon we will be even more grateful in the morning. Courtney prayed that night before bed, that everyone in the house especially the men will have a deep and satisfying sleep.

In the morning the men found their electronic devices missing, iPods, chords and computers (especially Mac’s). Chris had his earphones in his ears and the robber even took those. At first, people thought it was a prank but soon we realized that we were violated. Our men had the greatest attitude and were in fact joyous because God protected them and besides they are just things.

During the day I kept thinking how great God is and that His goodness is astounding. If we didn’t change rooms that day the outcome may have been different. Not only would our stuff would be stolen but also there could have been more damage to us women emotionally or maybe physically.

God is good!!! A couple days later the thief came and return all the stuff he didn’t want. Including passports, credit cards and more. Again it shows that God is good!
