I have been thinking so much lately about what the World Race means to me. It has been a long time dream of mine to leave everything behind and serve others in need. I read about the disciples and their obedience to God and it amazes me. They had so many reasons why they could choose to not go but instead they followed Jesus faithfully. God has called me to be a missionary. It is weird for me to think of myself in that way. I definitely do not see myself worthy for such a huge calling but God clearly sees I am capable and He has a purpose for me. I love that Jesus doesn’t just call the righteous. I have a heart to serve Him and I believe the World Race is an extension of his hands and feet. I have this urgency to do something! I can’t sit back and hope that people receive healing, hope, or that God’s love is going to surface somehow in their lives. I have got to be apart of this movement! I want to be a mover and shaker for Christ. I believe He is up to huge things, beautiful things.
I had someone close to me call the Race a vacation. It broke my heart because this person fails to understand how HUGE God is in my life. I love God so much that I will go to the ends of the Earth to make his name known even to my own expense. I understand the risks involved with the places I am traveling but I believe in His purpose over my life. Also, nothing about Malaria, Squatty potties, bathing in cold water once or twice a week and living out of a single backpack for an entire year screams vacation to me! I highly doubt you will ever find those listed in a luxury travel brochure. This trip isn’t all about me. I’m only a tiny part in God’s plan.
I am currently at $5,400. I still have a ways to go to meet my Goal of $15,500 by July. A little less than three months til I leave. I’ve been focusing mainly on fundraisers and it is the biggest chunk of my support so far. I’ve recently shifted my focus to sponsors. It is the best way I’ll reach my goal by July. If ONLY 25 people make a monthly pledge of $35 for 12 months I would be fully funded! Only 25 people! Making a monthly pledge is Eazy Peezy! There is a donate tab on the left side of your screen and it is just a couple of steps!
I am going to be a prayer warrior for the next 3 months and stand on God’s promise. I pray that you will consider partnering with me and help take part in what God is doing all around the world. 🙂
