Welcome to Tanzania!
After 30 hours of driving we get our Tanzania stamps added to the passport.

And we get to stay the night under Mt. Kilimanjaro!

Traveling in Africa is always an adventure. Imagine fourteen Americans walking through this bus station as we look for a bus that will take us the rest of our journey to our ministry site for the month. We found our bus and load back on for another days journey. Dramamine and headphones are my only sanity on these days.
Driving through villages on our way.
African sunsets are never dull.

Home Life
We made it! Welcome to our home for the month. And our sweet little ones.

Our courtyard, the second door is the computer class and the third door is our outdoor kitchen. A room about 5ft x 5ft with a single charcoal furnace. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful it will be to cook over even heat again.
Right in the middle of the courtyard is a washbasin. It's our dishwasher, washing machine and usually the only water in the house.

Happy 4th!
On 4th of July Becca surprised us with a night of fun. We each had card after dinner and played a few all American activities to celebrate. I think I got branded.

Oh, meat on a stick. It's everywhere in Tanzania…

Our feet have taken a lot this year, they deserve home pedicures so we get creative with our washing machine.

"How bad do you want internet?" Dan trying to find a signal.

They are precious!

We made friends with the woodcravers this month. They are so incredibly talented with so little.

Brandon relaxing and all the kids surrounding the computer to watch Finding Nemo.

We got to cook this month and had fun mixing Mexican, Italian and African food together!

Our kids at Church singing and dancing! They are so great!

Power the Church!
This wire was connected from the outside of the house and connected to the church about 300 yards away.

Local Transportation…
It continues to amaze me how many people they can get into a matatu(a small van that is Africa's public transportation). Record this month of 30 people.

Walking to the village.

Dan giving all of the girls Henna tatoos in the living room. He is so talented.

Amazing hike! We got to hike a few local moutains to the waterfalls. There are villages throughout these mountains that have made irrigation systems that link to the waterfalls. It's pretty impressive.

We met one of the men on our way up selling the best strawberries, rasberries and black rasberries I have ever had.

Beautiful waterfalls. We decided to get in!

And hang out for a while.

I mean when are we going to get this view again?

Travel
Time to head to the beach for a break before heading to Malawi. We load into the back of a truck. Nine people and a lot of luggage.

Were tenting on an island off the coast of Tanzania until Saturday. On Saturday morning we start our 3 day journey to Malawi for our last month. We are building a church this month with a missionary couple from South Africa.

Only in Africa is it normal to see cows being walked on the beach…

He has blessed our team SO much! I cannot wait to get to Malawi and finish this 11 months strong! Thank you all for so much love and support this month, I can tell you it got me through a couple of really challenging days. You all are a big part of me being here, so THANK YOU!!
LOTS OF LOVE from Tanzania!
