Yesterday was our first official day of ministry! My team and I are working at an orphanage for children with HIV/AIDS called Agape. Our job is to do different manual labor work around the orphanage in the morning and then to love on the kiddos in the afternoon. So far I have cut grass, trimmed bushes, sanded and moved furniture, played with the toddlers, and had some conversations with some of the staff. There is so much to do. When we got there the first day, we immediately went to see the children. Looking into their sweet little faces instantly put everything into perspective and made leaving home worth it. I am very excited to be here. I know it may not seem like manual labor or even hanging out with kids is really going to impact lives for the gospel, but I believe my God is powerful and can work through any situation and I am so excited to see all He does and allows us to be apart of in these next few weeks. Plus every little thing done for this ministry is helping them better help children in this country. (They are such a cool organization and they are currently in need of sponsors for the kids to stay there. Here’s the link to their website if you want to check it out> http://www.nikkisplace.org/about-agape/

This country is so amazing. There are smiling faces everywhere you look. Literally every shop I’ve gone into, they have cared more about being our friend then getting money from us.

Me and some of my pals recently made a friend named Barrus. He owns the cutest store with the most beautiful rugs and scarves you’ve ever seen. They are literally pieces of art. We sat in in there for a while as he rolled out each rug and gave us a really cool history lesson on them. We were amazed. One of the girls decided to buy a scarf but was just wanting to wait on the money and he was completely willing to just let her walk out of the store with the scarf and then come back and pay. He said he would rather do that and lose money and possibly gain a friend then not. How sweet! To say the least we are excited for our next visit to see him. I just love getting to talk with everyone here.

So excited to share more with you all soon! Please continue to keep me and my team in your prayers.

I am also still in need of donations in order to stay on the race. So if you can help out in any way it would be greatly appreciated. All you have to do is click that donate buttons on the home page of my blog. Thank you Thank you!!
