It’s been a few days since we’ve been in Indonesia, I struggled with the idea of being here with a new community. I was starting all over again and let me just say, CHANGE IS HARD FOR ME Y’ALL! I have seen how my teammates, Kenzie, Em, Hannah, John, Austin, and Amanda have brought me in, loved me deeply, and they have reflected Christ in such an incredible way. I honestly didn’t think my heart was able to love more BUT here we are. Loving deeper, deeper than I have ever experienced and it worries me when I leave BUT I know the Lord is faithful and he’ll take care of us when the time comes to say goodbye. For now I’ll share a bit of what we’ve experienced thus far, we are volunteering in an English center where college students and adults come to practice their English, it’s been sweet building relationships and it’s been sweeter seeing how God has been moving! There’s also been opportunities of us helping in different areas such as loving on children at an orphanage, teaching English at prisons or helping out in the red-light district. None of this has been easy to process, I strongly feel like the Lord is still working in our hearts and inviting us into how he feels towards his children. My teammate Kenzie said “The Lord has been breaking our hearts for what breaks His.” I STRONGLY AGREE!
Our host Jane and Steve are incredible people on fire for Christ, they have a guesthouse here in Bandung. Susi, her son Jo and Ellen live here. I’ve gotten the chance to build a friendship with Susi and she has shared her testimony, I just want to say she is an incredible women of God! You see it in her smile that she is joyful because she has the love of Christ, she shares with those around her and gives the best hugs EVER!
Susi invited us girls to accompany her to prayer at church, although I didn’t understand most of the service you could feel God’s presence. We didn’t need a translator for that. Later that day, we went around a specific park and spoke to certain Women who are currently in the Red-light district. As we were walking, I felt sadness rushed all over my body and I asked Susi “How much do men usually pay?” Susi replied for “Older Women $100,000 and younger Women $200,000.” You don’t have to google how much that equals to.

As Hannah, Em, Susi and I kept walking, we came across Santi. A woman who was selling drinks, chips, cigarettes, and coffee. We started a conversation with her and we soon realized that she was actually a pimp for a couple of girls working in that area. If I’m being honest, my flesh wanted to ask her “Why are you allowing this to happen, why aren’t you protecting these young girls, why aren’t you loving them?” As I kept hearing her story, she had also been hurt by a couple of men in her life and she was angry, she didn’t have the ability to see her son because he lived in an another area and she had to work to send money to her family. It was in that moment that I could see my heavenly Papa hugging her and loving her despite of what she might be doing. It was no longer of how I felt about the situation but about how God felt about Santi. God was telling me “She’s worth it all, she’s worth my love, she’s worth my forgiveness, and she’s my daughter!” I ask you to take this moment for Santi, pray for her heart! Pray for a supernatural awakening by our Papa, pray that Santi sees these girls the same way Christ sees her, and pray for forgiveness.
There’s so many stories like Santi, there’s so many stories like the women who are being sold, and I wanted to share this with YOU so you can help me pray. Not only a quick prayer BUT intercede for these women. These women who don’t deserve none of this, pray for an awakening in our hearts to want to do more and pray for us to have a soft heart towards not only the women who are being sold BUT for the pimps.
I had never experienced anything like this before and I just wanted to hug them, I wanted to tell that there was a solution to their pain and they no longer had to run. That there was someone who loved them, a love that no one on this earth could give. I realized that they might not ever read this but I need to do this!
Dear women,
You are loved by our papa! You’ve gone through hurt, bitterness, hatred, and loneliness but you are not alone. You will never be alone, you have someone here loving you and wrapping you in his arms. We are fighting for you, we will continue to fight for you and never stop! You have a sister here who is interceding for you. You are wonderfully made! You are his and he is pursuing you.

Han pasado algunas días desde que llegamos a Indonesia, tuve problemas con la idea de estar aquí con una nueva comunidad. Estaba empezando todo de nuevo y déjenme decir, ¡EL CAMBIO ES DURO PARA MÍ! He visto cómo mi equipo, Kenzie, Em, Hannah, John, Austin y Amanda me han aceptado, me han amado profundamente y han reflejado a Cristo de una manera increíble. Sinceramente, no creía que mi corazón pudiera amar más, PERO aquí estamos. Amando más profundo, más de lo que he experimentado y me preocupa cuando sea tiempo de irnos, PERO sé que el Señor es fiel y nos cuidará cuando llegue el momento de decir adiós. Por ahora compartiré un poco de lo que hemos echo, estamos trabajando como voluntarios en un centro de inglés donde estudiantes y adultos vienen a practicar su inglés, ha sido dulce construir relaciones y ha sido más dulce ver cómo Dios se ha estado moviendo! Estamos en una área donde no se conoce mucho de Jesús. También ha habido oportunidades de ayudar en diferentes áreas, como amar a los niños en un orfanato, enseñar inglés en las cárceles o ayudar en una área donde se conoce mucho la prostitución. Nada de esto ha sido fácil de procesar, siento firmemente que el Señor todavía está trabajando en nuestros corazones y nos está encintando en cómo se siente hacia sus hijos. Mi compañero de equipo Kenzie dijo: “El Señor ha estado quebrantado nuestros corazones por lo que rompe el suyo”. ¡ESTOY TOTALMENTE DE ACUERDO!
Los estamos quedando con Jane y Steve son personas increíbles y su pasión por Cristo es algo que nunca eh visto, tienen una casa de huéspedes aquí en Bandung. Susi, su hijo Jo y Ellen viven aquí. Tuve la oportunidad de conocer q Susi y su amistad ah ácido algo muy especial para mi. Solo quiero decir que es una increíble mujer de Dios! Puedes ver en su sonrisa que está alegre porque tiene el amor de Cristo, comparte con los que la rodean y da los mejores abrazos.
Susi nos invitó a las chicas a acompañarla a la oración en la iglesia, aunque no entendí la mayor parte del servicio, se podía sentir la presencia de Dios. No necesitábamos un traductor para eso. Ese mismo día, recorrimos un parque específico y hablamos con ciertas mujeres. Muchas de ellas están siendo vendidas! Mientras caminábamos, sentí tristeza en todo mi corazón y le pregunté a Susi “¿Cuánto pagan los hombres por estas muchachas?” Susi respondió por “Mujeres mayores $ 100,000 y mujeres más jóvenes $ 200,000”. No tiene que buscar en Google cuánto equivale eso.

Mientras Hannah, Em, Susi y yo seguíamos caminando, nos encontramos con Santi. Una mujer que vendía bebidas, papas fritas, cigarrillos y café. Comenzamos una conversación con ella y pronto nos dimos cuenta de que en realidad era una persona que vendía a las mujeres en esa área. Si soy sincera, mi carne quería preguntarle “¿Por qué estás permitiendo que esto suceda? ¿Por qué no estás protegiendo a estas muchachas? ¿Por qué no las estás amando?” Mientras escuchaba su historia, ella también fue lastimada por un par de hombres en su vida y estaba enojada, no tenía la capacidad de ver a su hijo porque él vivía en otra área y tenía que trabajar para enviar dinero a su familia. Fue en ese momento que pude ver a Dios abrazándola y amándola a pesar de lo que estaba haciendo. Ya no se trataba de cómo me sentía acerca de la situación, sino de cómo Dios se sentía acerca de Santi. Dios me estaba diciendo “¡Ella lo vale todo, vale mi amor, vale mi perdón y es mi hija!” ¡Te pido que aproveches este momento para Santi, ora por su corazón! Ora por un despertar sobrenatural de Dios, ora para que Santi vea a estas chicas de la misma manera que Cristo la ve, y ora para reciba perdón de Dios.
Hay tantas historias como Santi, hay tantas historias como las mujeres que están siendo vendidas, y quería compartir esto contigo para que puedas ayudarme a orar. No solo una oración rápida sino que intercedes por estas mujeres. Estas mujeres que no se merecen nada de esto, ora por un despertar en nuestros corazones para querer hacer más y ora para que tengamos un corazón hacia las mujeres que están siendo vendidas PERO por las mujeres y hombres que están vendido a estas muchachas.
Nunca había experimentado algo así antes y solo quería abrazarlos, quería decir que había una solución a su dolor y que ya no tenían que correr. Que había alguien que las amaba, un amor que nadie en esta tierra podía dar. Me di cuenta de que tal vez nunca lean esto, ¡pero tengo que hacerlo!
Queridas mujeres,
Eres amado por nuestro padre celestial! Has pasado por mucho dolor, ay amargura, odio y soledad, pero no estás solo. Nunca estarás solo, tienes a alguien aquí que te ama y te envuelve en sus brazos. ¡Estamos luchando por ti, seguiremos luchando por ti y nunca nos detendremos! Tienes una hermana aquí que está intercediendo por ti. ¡Estás maravillosamente hecho! Eres suyo y él te persigue.
