The last few years I have invested myself into an amazing spiritual journey. Entering my senior year of high school caused me to reflect back over the course of the last few years and I found that my spiritual growth was significant throughout. My sophomore year was the true beginning of this journey, however I didn’t fully invest myself in my faith until my junior year. This was when I became involved with the children’s ministry at Orchard Hill Church (my home church), as well as attending BIGHouse and Basic, the high school and college ministries put on by Orchard. That same year I went on a mission trip to Haiti and attended a retreat to New York City that was focused on the development and growth of faith. It was through these experiences, as well as the development of a few incredible and influential relationships, that I realized the Lord had placed a calling on my heart to enter into the mission field of His kingdom, and apply for the World Race Gap Year.
The World Race Gap Year is a 9 month mission trip to 5 countries around the world that has a focus on mission, adventure, and discipleship. Throughout the race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries within local communities to preach the gospel and disciple those around us. The Race emphasises not only mission, but the strong discipleship of racers as well, in order to launch this generation into their specific kingdom callings.
I cannot wait to begin this adventure and share the experience with each of you!
