Hi everyone!! I don’t know if anyone is familiar with Beauty for Ashes, but I thought I’d just share how Jesus wrecked me in the most beautiful way last night.Ugh He is so good!!

Beauty for Ashes is an event that is for the ladies, and involves a lot of vulnerability, love, and just goodness from the Father!

Beauty for ashes means that the Lord can trade our beauty for ashes. Breaking that down… unveiling the lies, or harsh words that anyone has ever spoken over you. Or anything that the enemy has made you believe that is not true. Those are the ashes, the hurt. But the Lord takes those ashes and He finds the beauty, and tells us we are worthy.  Ultimately the Lord takes our ashes that we give Him and he exchanges them for beauty.

 Isaiah 61:3

“To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

Ahh what a good truth. Makes my heart do a little skippy skip.

So last night we all were placed in different groups. One of the 11n11 all girl teams put on the event. My team leader was Victoria, she’s been like an older sister to me while being here. She’s prayed and loved on me so much this month. Her being my team leader was definitely a God thing, Victoria if you’re reading this I love you!! Once we got in our groups we did a few activities. I’m not going to share the details but, woah the presence of Jesus was THERE. There was so many hearts being revealed and the Lord really led.

After dinner and desserts, that were served by the guys. All the boys on each squad washed our feet and prayed for us! Prayer is so dang powerful. Woah. Being here in Jaco has taught me that prayer, is so important. Cass and I got to pray for Nick and Bryce as well, after they washed our feet. It was such a wholesome moment.

Washing someone’s feet is such a sign of humility. It’s a way to serve one another and to love each other better. I’ve gotten my feet washed one other time and I think it symbolizes Jesus so well. Jesus washed the disciples feet and did it out of love & respect!

 John 13:14-15

“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”

Whew just wanted to share that moment real quick! We just arrived at our hostel for debrief! We’ll be here for 4 days, getting to relax, and reflect on the last month before we head into the remainder of the trip. We still are unsure on where our next location will be. However, I think we’re all learning to come to the Father with open hands and take whatever He gives us. He’s got us.

Okay! That’s all for now! Another one coming very soon, love you all! Thank you so much for the support.
