We must take Adventures in order to know where we truly belong & who we truly are.
Middle of Month 3 and I realized that the people I have been in community with have not been properly introduced to my readers. Granted month 2 we were with our whole squad, in that all 46 of us were in one place. Which was one of the best yet challenging times, I felt that at times I couldn’t focus on any one person, I didn’t know what I was doing half the time. Given that I felt everyone around me was better and had more talents in every area then I did. I came to a point where I realized that I was not the victim, that I had a lot to offer but as my feelings were valid they had no truth and I was okay to be where ever I was and to just be content not always talking, or constantly being involved with details. I didn’t need to know everything or be part of every conversation. Just learning to be more content being who I am, and who the Lord made me, which leads to my team, a group of people who have been thrown together and learning the same things in main different ways.
Maria:
This beautiful young lady is in fact the youngest of us but also the most protective, Our vlogger extraordinaire grew up in Canada with a younger brother and sister and I am so grateful for her on this team, she brings such a huge joy and light every day. In times that the situation isn’t ideal she is always there to offer a hand and a reminder to choose joy.
Chelsea:
Of the many fun facts of our team the first connection was with Chelsea on the fact that she was born and raised in Canton, Ohio! One of four girls and has really come to show me a lot about being calm in times nothing seems to be going as planned. One of our three squad logistics coordinator and at 24 she has never been out of the United States before starting her travels on The World Race!
Heather:
The oldest of the bunch and the most hyper! Heather grew up one of 3 girls and is the most fluent in Spanish which helped when she lived in Nicaragua for two years! It has been a pleasure working alongside her watching her patience as she translates everything we say, or anything the host needs or just trying to connect with people around her.
Carson:
Hands down one of quietest people I have met, yet full of so much joy and wisdom. I have loved getting to watch his smile come out and learn about his heart. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Goshen Indiana with an older sister. Fun fact, if Carson could be any animal he would be a cheetah also he eats more snacks and ice cream then an man, I think I have ever seen.
Daniel:
Dan has been our furious team leader for the last 3 months! I have been extremely blessed to watch as he has stepped up and really taught us how to be vulnerable at times when every part of him doesn’t want to, He has really pushed us to grow. He grew up off and on in Nairobi Kenya for 9 years until his sophomore year of high school. He has a younger brother, Nathen, and at 23 he has called Oklahoma home, until he of course getting accepted on the World Race!
As month 3 comes to a close we are all looking forward to the New Year and the changes that brings, funny enough change is exactly what our Co-Ed teams are doing. This January our boys will be going to Belize to do Ministry. That leaves three teams of girls to be mixed and then divided into two teams. Celebrate the change! Next month I will be on an all-girls team with Ellen, Heather, Julia, Elizabeth, & Sarah! Who are they and what will they teach me we will just have to wait and see.
