If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try

LET YOUR FAITH BE BIGGER THEN YOUR FEAR!!   I literally got to hike to the top of Cerro Negro, an active volcano, sit on a sled that was half my size, and volcano board! Now that is sick! Yet I almost didn’t because I got so scared. I am on top of the world living my life to the fullest, but I almost let my fear of leaving home for a year stop me from this journey. But I didn’t and I am doing this and I will continue to be strong in the Lord and have faith.

Adventures in Nicaragua sounds like an amazing vacation and there are moments where we are dancing on a mountain tops but I wanted this post to not just be about the adventure days but about the work we do during the week and the people we get to form connections with. In all honesty, I am scared 90 percent of the time, I have to push myself every day to get up and go knock on someone’s door to invite them to just come play with us. There are times that it’s easy and then sometimes it’s being a girl who is speaking broken Spanish, doesn’t know where she is going, and misses her papa a lot. We did give up all we knew to grow and to learn, to love others yet we get home sick, heck we get sick .. it’s a thing just because we are running around playing with children in the sun, we still mess up, still don’t know what we are doing or where we are going. Our cloths usually smell like sweat and not just some of our cloths, like all of them because you sweat more than you shower some times.

I can remember as a kid I loved climbing trees, I didn’t like going too high but to just get off the ground. The other day I had the opportunity to love on this little one, meet David, who I ended up calling Mowgli. The day started as any day started, with breakfast and then we all loaded up in the truck to go do ministry in a village. Now we had been told we were going to go speaking and hangout with men who had struggled with addictions. We had prepared a message, a few testimony’s and were all ready to talk to adults, then we arrived… at a school filled with children. That my friends, is the race, you go in with a plan and at the drop of a hat everything changes with not much direction. In that we got to sing songs and play with children for 4 hours, in those hours I climbed this tree with Mowgli barefoot and in a skirt just enjoying that.

I am truly having some of the most amazing experiences and forming some of the best memoires that I can’t imagine that we are already going into month 3!! It’s hard to form my brain around the fact that we are leaving for Honduras in less than 24 hours, let alone the fact that I am 74 PERCENT RAISED!! Thank you all who through praying & donating have continued to help me get that much closer to my goal of 16,561!!! I am only 703 dollars away from my December 30th deadline and 4,264 away from being fully funded!!! Please if you feel called or want to donate or even give a Christmas present I would be crazy grateful!! Any small amount helps and contributes to the big picture of me staying on this adventure!!
