my teeth never feel clean here. i brush them twice a day. yet, they never feel clean. i’m not sure why. could be the food, water, air, who knows? but, it is really frustrating to me.
i love the dominican republic. the kids are so cute. they fight a lot, but they are still cute.

although, i am partial to the girl in the picture. that is Coni. basically my favorite kid in this country. she tried to give me kisses on the lips everytime i see her. it’s sweet, but just not sanitary!
wednesday is our day off. so Leah, Stacey, and I decided we wanted to look “normal” on wednesday, we put on make-up and wore clean clothes. It was a definite step up from our normal attire. we decided to go take pictures around the city. we found a line of trees in front of the big white building (maybe the capitol builing or a court house of some sort, not sure) that looked like an upside down birds nest. obviously, we had to have a photo shoot there. it was so much fun just having time to relax and not having a schedule.

i officially HATE mosqitoes. they have been pestering me my entire life and they are 100X worse in the DR. plus, there is a dengue fever epidemic here right now, so we have to be super conscious of always wearing bug spray. even though i put on bug spray multiple times a day my legs still look like i have been attacked by wolves. i don’t think i have seen anyone in our house that isn’t constantly scratching. i know that mosqitoes are straight from satan.
