I would like to introduce you to my team “The Tsunamis”…..Tsunamis are coming….tsunamis are coming…TSUNAMIS ARE COMING!!!!
The past few days have been very busy with the campers now being here. I love every minute of being busy with my team
though. It has been so neat to experience children worshiping the Lord I forgot how much fun it was to sing…” Pharaoh Pharaoh let my people go HUH yea yea yea yea” and sing songs with hand motions. I miss being a kid, I feel like the older we get, we sometimes feel like we have to be more reserved when we are worshiping our creator, when all I want to do is put my hands in the air and spin around. We are called to have child like faith, and I always kind of wondered what that meant, and now being here seeing it firsthand I now know what it means. It means believing with all of our hearts that Jesus is our creator, believing
something whole heartedly even if it does sound crazy and unbelievable. It means letting it all go placing everything we have in His hands. I feel like the older we get the more complicated we make things, the more complicated we make our relationship with the Lord. When all we are called to do is believe that he is our creator and love him and love others.
Last night we were having devotions with our girls in our cabin, we were asking them what they thought of the speaker that night, because for many of them this “Christian” thing is a new experience and something they have never really heard about. The girls were all pretty quiet; they are all still a little shy so they all did not have much to say, so we just prayed for them and had lights out. We had been laying there for 5 minutes when all of a sudden one of the girls quietly said,” there is something I have always wondered about God for ages…. I was wondering if God created us then who created God?”. Lauren, the other leader, and I kind of sat there in silence; it was a question that caught us off guard. It was not a question I expected a 10 year old to ask. We explained that God is so powerful that he was not created he
has always been. We weren’t sure what she was going to say in response, but it was amazing she just accepted it and understood it. She accepted God into her heart that week and I can’t wait to see how she grows in her relationship with the Lord. Our girls were amazing, 3 of them accepted God into their hearts or rededicated, so please be praying for them as they grown with the Lord.
Camp is over and now we are going to begin helping with a conference called “new wine” we will be the behind the scenes people. I will be helping out in the kitchen all week; I am very excited because the ladies in the kitchen are amazing! I will update you guys soon I promise!
