when you are dry and restoring your strength
you will be like a well-watered garden. like an ever flowing spring.” Isaiah 58:11 The Lord gave me water this month when my heart and soul was dry. The Lord restored back to me my strength. I serve a God that is good in every season, I serve a God who is faithful, I serve a God who loves hard, I serve a God who comforts me, I serve a God who never forsakes me, I serve a God who at the end of the day all I can say over and over is; He is Good.
As many of you know my month in Thailand was the hardest month I have experienced on the trip so far. I was experiencing a season of grieving a season of crying and all I wanted was to be in the season of dancing and of laughing. My prayer to God was “God please restore me”. The verse I meditated on for truth and for comfort was “Trust in the Lord always for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.” Isaiah 26:4
I serve a God who not only restored me completely but a God who surpassed my every expectation. On only our third day serving with the church who is our contact this month. Pastor Joseph called us up to the front of the church and asked to speak over us and to pray for us as a church. With out even knowing anything going on in our lives back home he spoke these exact words “While you guys are serving at this church this month, your needs back home will be met, you have no need to worry or fear.” I think my mouth might have dropped opened. It was then that I realized that God’s hand of protection was over everything going on at home with my family, he was in control. God was beginning the restoring of my spirit, because he had many things for me to do this month in Kenya.
I can now say that I am in a season of laughing I am in a season of dancing I am in a season of joy I am in a season of peace. God has completely answered my prayers and restored my strength this month. My heart has fallen completely in love with the people in Kenya.
I am sure many of you are wondering about the statement that Joseph made to us in the beginning of the month about our needs back home being met. In the last few weeks, my uncles situation has improved. He has now moved to a different hospital with different doctors, who are doing an amazing job getting his medications under control. They feel as though they can improve his condition enough to give him at least another solid year with us! He is in better spirits about fighting the cancer then he was a few weeks ago. He started his chemo and radiation treatments this weeks, so please continue to keep my uncle David in your prayers. God though had complete control over this situation and we serve the mighty healer!! GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
