It’s nearly sandal season folks! If you are finding yourself looking down at those piggies, and cringing, fret not! You only need a Fish Pedicure.

You may be asking “Kenadi, where can I get myself one of those fancy Fish Pedicures?”

The answer is simple: Bua Tong Falls, Thailand.

Now, here are 10 EASY steps to getting the perfect AUTHENTIC Fish Pedicure experience.

  1. Book flight or mode of travel to Chiang Mai, Thailand. (Don’t worry they have a International air port)
  2. Once in Thailand, flag down a RED Song Tau like the one pictured below, and make sure to tell the driver you’re going to Bua Tong Falls!

RECOMMENDATION: Make friends! The price of the Song Tau will be cheaper if you split it with other people, and it will be more fun!

3. Once on the road to Bua Tong Falls, make sure you have a good view out the windows because the hour and a half long Song Tau ride is very scenic. You will be driving up to the mountains that surround Chiang Mai.

4. Upon arrival, thank your driver for being a great human being. Then let him know when you think you will be finished at the falls so he will wait for you.

5. Follow the signs to the top of the falls.

Recommendation:Take your shoes off, I know it sounds crazy but you will actually have more traction while climbing down the falls.

6. Begin your decent down the Falls

Fun Fact: the tan colored “rock” is actually exposed limestone that has built up over time. The limestone provides traction and grip as you make your way down the falls.

7.Make sure to take the “Slippery Rout”.

PS:It’s not slippery.

8. Climb all the way down to the bottom of the falls.

9. Swim in the water and swing from the vine like George of the Jungle.

10. FINAL STEP: Stand still in the water, and slowly, but surely small fish will start to nibble on your feet. They are nibbling at the dead skin on your feet. This is the most NATURAL pedicure you will ever find!

Voalla! Now you are ready to strut your stuff in those sandals with confidence!

Please know this is a purely satirical article, just for funsies. I have actually experienced both types of “pedicures” and I’ll say the “natural way” is the way to go!
