Here lately the Lord has been gently nudging me by bringing my attention to the clock almost every day at 11:11am or 1:11pm. At these times I pause what I am doing to contemplate and ask the Lord what he is wanting to bring my attention to. When I asked there wasn’t a definitive answer, so I continued to seek him knowing he could just simply want to draw my attention, and make me smile in that moment.

A couple days ago I was planning a lesson for children on knowing God as our heavenly father and how to be his son or daughter. When planning the lesson I asked the Lord what verses I should reference and teach with on this topic. The Lord reminded me of something Jesus said that I often hold onto, and remind myself of. What Jesus said was this: “You fathers-if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”. This hit me like a ton of bricks because these verses are found in Luke 11:11!! I immediately jumped up because I realized in one moment that God had been bringing me to the time 11:11 so that I would pay attention to these verses when I came across them. He was saying that he is giving me more of his Holy Spirit because I asked! AND it’s 11:11…11 months…11 countries. WOW.

This completely blew me away. The fact that God had been patiently nudging me, guiding me into that moment is amazing to me. This realization had such an impact because I needed to be reminded (again) that I asked for this (The World Race). I asked almost a year ago to have a huge dream that I couldn’t do on my own; One that would scare me in the way of realizing how small I really am. I asked God, and he, being a GOOD Father has graciously given me this opportunity to go on the Race and grow. The really awesome part is that this is just the beginning. He is faithful, so he will always fulfill his promises to his children.

“For Jesus Christ, the Son of God does not waver between “yes” and “no”. He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “yes” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (Which means “yes”) ascends to God for his Glory. It is God who enables us to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.” 2 Corinthians 1:19-22 NLT

I will camp here, in these verses, allowing truth to soak deep into my heart. I will declare in faith that all his promises will come to fruition even if I’m not the one that will see all of them fulfilled.
